Compact High-Order Gas-Kinetic Scheme for Three-Dimensional Flow Simulations

A third-order compact gas-kinetic scheme is proposed for three-dimensional compressible flow computations. The new based on three key ingredients: the time-accurate gas evolution model interface flux, Hermite weighted essentially nonoscillatory reconstruction, and two-stage temporal discretization. In contrast to Riemann-solver-based methods, due use of flux function can achieve a accuracy with two stages instead in standard Runge–Kutta method. As an extension existing high-order reconstructions, reconstruction specifically designed current implementation constrained least-square technique, which subsequently improves robustness scheme. There no trouble cell identification be achieved even curved boundary. Numerical examples both smooth discontinuous flows show high scheme, has comparable performance as fifth-order noncompact large Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy number around 0.5 used
